The inspiration for Twig came from the increasing number of people engaging in home training. Dumbbells, a common piece of equipment, often pose storage issues due to their size and frequency of use. Lee sought to improve this by designing a dumbbell that could also serve as a home decoration.
Twig deviates from the traditional dumbbell form, acting as an object of visual beauty when not in use. This unique property allows it to be displayed rather than stored away, adding to the aesthetics of a home. However, its design does not compromise its practicality. It is easy to control its weight, making it more user-friendly than conventional dumbbells.
Moreover, Twig's design allows it to function beyond a typical dumbbell. Its twig-like shape enables it to be used as a push-up bar, adding versatility to its list of benefits. This feature further emphasizes the thoughtfulness of Lee's design, considering the various needs of home trainers.
Lee's design was brought to life with the help of Creative Director Sipyeong Lee. Their collaboration resulted in a product that not only addresses the practical needs of its users but also contributes to the visual appeal of their environment. This balance of form and function is what sets Twig apart from other fitness equipment.
The Silver A' Design Award that Twig received is a testament to its innovative design. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, qualities that Twig undoubtedly possesses. This recognition further solidifies Twig's position as a top-of-the-line fitness equipment that brings positive feelings, amazement, and wonder to its users.
